How to apply
- Prepare for part time employment confirmation (personal information and scheduled work place)
- Prepare for documents, visit the person in charge of international student at international exchange office, and have the documents confirmed
- Apply to immigration office

※ Application and approval shall be completed before starting to work
Period of permission
- Within 1 year from the length of stay, only 2 places to be employed at the same time
※ Seal as permission for activities other than the qualifications of stay on the passport (indicate place of employment and period
Limitation on permission
- Activities in professional field (E-1 professor, E-2 conversation guide, E-3 research, E-7 technical guidance, E-5 professional work, E-6 art promotion, E-7 specific activities), non-professional activity (E-9), sailor employment (E-10)
- International students not concluded with employment contract with a user (employer and user shall be the same)
- Remote worker (regard the distance within at most 1 hour from residency or university to be proper)
- International students on the research (D-2-5)
- Students not receiving part-time qualifications or with a history of violating it
- Limitations on the approval on the following employers or works : Companies or owners, manufacturers, or constructions limited with the company ID cards (based on business registration)
※ However, it is of an exception for permission if possessing TOPIK grade 4 (KIIP grade 4) in manufacturing.
Exceptional permission in the special field (example)
- Translation/interpretation, server at a restaurant, general office assistant
- Store sales associate, restaurant worker, and event agents at English village or camp
- Tour guide or duty free shop cashiers
Changes in employment place
- It is required to report the changes in employment place by visiting or through electronic civil service within 15 days from the date of changes
Process for the violation of part-time permission (acquisition of permission from illegal or false information or violate conditions)
- 1st violation : Not available with part-time for the next 1 year according to the Article 89 in the law
- 2nd violation : Not available with part-time during the stay for the study according to the Article 89
- 3rd violation : Cancel the status of study abroad according to the Article 89 of the same law
※ Departure is ordered if violating the requirements regardless of the frequency of violation for construction.
If employed without part-time permission
- International students and owners shall be prisoned for less than 3 years or fined with KRW 20 million according to the Article 20 of the law
Special case for part-time work
- Activities to be performed with temporary allowance, incentive, or other compensations from daily lives without infringing the original intention of the status of abroad study shall be exempted.
- If participating in the internship or research project from international students in school to obtain credit and receive allowance
- If participating in the project as an honor student at library or book stores including the assistant (including TA) at a current school
- If receiving incentives from the regular work assistance or work assistance instead of the direct work such as the work assistant
- If receiving compensation from the performance as an extra or other, event, movie, or broadcasting (temporary or non-permanent) instead of direct involvement
- Research activities of international students (D-2)
- (Research activities in the university) Receiving research stipend from university or industrial academic cooperative groups
- Participate in the research related to the studyV: Exempt for part-time permission
- Participate in the research not related to the study : In need of permission for part-time
※ Whether to be connected with the study is considered with (1) confirmation from professor, and (2) recommendation from college chair or graduate school dean
- (Research activities in the college not involved) If receiving research stipend from organization outside the university
- Participate in the research related to the study: In need of permission for part-time

- Participate in the research related to the study: In need of permission for part-time
- Activities in profit research from the organization of government body in the natural science is permitted exceptionally through permission for activities other than qualifications regardless of whether it is connected to the study
